Citrus County, FL – A 69-year-old man from Beverly Hills was hospitalized Friday afternoon following a high-speed crash involving a yellow Chevrolet Camaro on North Forest Ridge Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:55 p.m. on May 30, 2025. The driver was traveling southbound on North Forest Ridge Boulevard when he reportedly failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway north of West Casurina Place. The vehicle entered the grass median, struck a tree, and continued to spin onto the sidewalk before crashing into a pedestrian handrail.
Photos from the scene show the Camaro with severe front-end damage, crumpled along the rail and surrounded by debris. Units from Polk County Fire Rescue and law enforcement were on-site, with the scene drawing attention from passersby due to the violent impact and visible destruction.
Authorities identified the driver as being impaired at the time of the crash. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional injuries were reported. The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the inquiry.
