Homosassa, FL – March 12, 2025 – A tragic two-vehicle crash on West Homosassa Trail early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a 50-year-old Homosassa woman. The collision occurred at approximately 7:03 AM when a dump truck, driven by a 34-year-old Ocala man, attempted to make a left turn into a driveway at 4816 West Homosassa Trail. The truck entered the path of an oncoming Dodge minivan, leading to a devastating impact.
The minivan driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene, while her three children, a 16-year-old female, a 15-year-old female, and a 12-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured in the crash. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine any contributing factors.
