Tampa, FL – A fatal traffic accident occurred on the evening of March 8, 2025, at approximately 7:38 PM on Dale Mabry Highway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorized scooter, operated by a 41-year-old Tampa woman, was traveling southbound in the right turn lane in the 11000 block of the highway.
At the same time, a 72-year-old Tampa man was riding a bicycle along the lane marker separating the right turn lane from the outside travel lane. As the scooter operator attempted to merge into the outside lane, she collided with the bicyclist just north of Hudson Lane.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the bicyclist succumbed to fatal injuries. The scooter operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and no further details have been released.
