OLDSMAR – Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested an Oldsmar woman for Murder in the First Degree.
On December 13, 2024, deputies responded to 3580 Meriden Avenue in Oldsmar for a report of an unresponsive 3-month-old. Paramedics also responded and transported the child to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Detectives learned the child suffered from multiple brain bleeds and a large skull fracture. The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be blunt head trauma. Throughout the investigation, detectives learned the child was in the care of her mother, 26-year-old Tess Britt, on the day the injuries occurred.
On March 6, 2025, detectives arrested Britt and charged her with Murder in the First Degree. She was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
