According to Sander\u2019s\npresidential campaign team Bernie (78) suffered a heart attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the hospital stay Bernie received two stents to open a\nblocked artery. &#8220;After two and a half days in the hospital, I feel great,\nand after taking a short time off, I look forward to getting back to\nwork,&#8221; Sanders said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday Bernie\u2019s campaign office released a statement reassuring voters that three months after suffering a heart attack, Bernie Sanders is &#8220;fit and ready to serve as president,&#8221; and was supported by letters from three doctors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"955\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA.jpg 955w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA-696x364.jpg 696w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2019\/12\/bernie_sanders_IA-802x420.jpg 802w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 955px) 100vw, 955px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This month,\nSanders underwent testing at the University of Vermont Medical Center,\nincluding a treadmill stress test. University of Vermont Medical Center director\nof cardiac rehabilitation, Philip Ades, wrote that Sanders &#8220;was able to\nexercise to a level that is approximately 50% higher than other men his age\nwith a similar diagnosis&#8221; And &#8220;is more than fit enough to pursue\nvigorous activities and an occupation that requires stamina and an ability to\nhandle a great deal of stress.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanders is\nthe oldest candidate in the Democratic field, and should he win, he would be\nthe oldest president to take office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On October 1, 2019 Bernie Sanders was admitted to the Las Vegas Hospital after experiencing chest pains.
