The SBA disaster declaration issued includes Marion County and the adjacent counties of Alachua, Citrus, Lake, Levy, Putnam, Sumter, and Volusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2676\" srcset=\"https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-64x64.png 64w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-1536x1536.png 1536w, https:\/\/politicalbourbon.com\/en\/file\/2022\/04\/tornado-damage-2048x2048.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGetting small businesses back on their feet following a disaster is important to a fast recovery for impacted communities,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Governor DeSantis<\/strong>. \u201cThis assistance will put cash in the hands of small business owners and residents and help them rebuild stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThanks to Governor DeSantis\u2019 leadership, we are very pleased to announce this assistance for the families impacted by the March 12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;tornado,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said DEO Secretary Dane Eagle<\/strong>. \u201cSBA\u2019s disaster loans are a valuable resource for individuals and small businesses facing damage and hardship through no fault of their own, and those impacted and in need are encouraged to apply.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis SBA Disaster Declaration will provide much-needed relief to impacted Floridians still recovering from the severe weather,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie<\/strong>. \u201cThe Division continues to coordinate with local emergency management offices and we are committed to supporting recovery efforts and ensuring disaster survivors have access to all available resources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 12, 2022, a cold front brought multiple severe weather hazards across Northeast and Central Florida including heavy rain, thunderstorms, damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes resulting in widespread power outages and damages. Later that same day, Governor DeSantis issued&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/8r687h\/8z0tiag\/8bu479\">Executive Order 22-56<\/a>, declaring a state of emergency in the affected counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following severe weather impacts, Governor DeSantis&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/8r687h\/8z0tiag\/o4u479\">requested<\/a>&nbsp;an SBA Disaster Declaration, which would provide impacted Floridians with access to critical SBA recovery resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disaster loan programs available to businesses and individuals in the impacted areas include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Business Physical Disaster Loans<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery, and equipment. Businesses of any size are eligible. Private, non-profit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc., are also eligible.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Home Disaster Loans<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants may apply online, or download the application, using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) through the SBA\u2019s secure website at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/8r687h\/8z0tiag\/4wv479\">DisasterLoan.SBA.gov<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/8r687h\/8z0tiag\/kpw479\">.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by calling the SBA\u2019s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:disastercustomerservice@SBA.gov\">disastercustomerservice@SBA.gov<\/a>.
